Yoga that makes you warm… Bikram yoga in Brno

I was playing only classical sports until then that focus just on muscular body system and I didn’t expect anything else from it. But it just wasn’t enough one day and I started looking for something more complex. I joined some hatha yoga and pilates classes but I just wasn’t perfectly happy with it. I couldn’t put my finger on it but I just didn’t feel it. Once I was browsing the Internet and I ran into Bikram yoga studio in Prague and just the basic info impressed me. This method consists of several asanas (yoga positions) that you perform in 42°C!!

 

I love warmth

I fell in love with Bikram yoga right after first class. It depends on your taste but I felt the atmosphere of sunny beach, sea and comfort as soon as I entered the warm room. I love arriving few minutes earlier to get relaxed. Another advantage is that the muscles get warm very fast and you can stretch them more easily and intensively then in an usual environment. Do you get sweaty? You bet do you! But that’s just another benefit. Your sweat takes the dirt away with it so it helps detoxication and good health.

The point is not to give up

To perform asanas in such a high temperature is a big experience from the very first minute and I have to admit that it is not easy not to give up, especially if you are not in good shape. But yoga is based on flow of the energy and if you practice in a group, you need to keep the energy of the group up and support each other. So it is important to be in the room the whole time, not to give up and leave to breathe some fresh air. I went to the classes four times a week for half a year and more often that not I came to the class very tired. It is perfectly normal that you are not in your ideal shape the whole time and you can’t get the exercise easily and with smile on your face. You need to perform Bikram yoga on your present 100% every time. It can mean to enjoy all the asanas as much as possible but once in a while  you just sit half of the time trying to get some energy to be able to join your colleagues afterwards. In whatever shape you are, Bikram yoga gives you a lot of benefits every time. The most important thing is to come every time. 🙂

26 is a number of positions that you perform during one class. Yes you do the same positions every class but you never know which one is coming next. First I thought that I will get tired of the repetitions soon and I!ll get bored, but it was the other way around. There’s a number of tasks and instructions connected to every position. The way it actually works is that you are told three new instructions with every progress. 🙂

If you also love warmth, yoga and complex way to health I can only recommend you this method. I found only one studio in Brno so far performing actual Bikram yoga and that is e Hot City Yoga Brno. There are also studios where you do yoga in 42°C but the lasses are built more on classical hatha yoga. Anyway, any yoga is good your your body and mind so if you want to get energized during the cold days, don’t hesitate to try one of these warm options.
